Okay-here's another possibility on the NX-02
We are asuming that the NX-01 will return from the delphic expanse in one operational piece or, if she had sustained damage, that damage can be repaired.
The conversation between Admiral Forest and Captain had a purpose. To let us know that more vessels in the same ilk as NX-01 were being contructed. The point was also made as to how the NX-02 will be "fitted".
Was that to assure us that the NX-02 will not be bigger and badder than her older sister? Maybe.
What if apon return (and they will return or we won't have a show anymore) it is decided that the damage to the NX-01 is too severe to merit repair.
I don't see the brave crew of the NX01 Enterprise going without a vessel.
Are ya'll following me here?
It's not unusal for B & B to "borrow" from the Treks that have gone before. It's just another possibility.

Ah! So yer saying that the NX-02 might become the new Ent if she's too banged up to repair? Interesting.
I want to see more of those nifty swifty little fighters that helped the Ent fight off the Klingons. Maybe they were Vulcan??

I don't think so. At least one was not vulcan. It's name was Intrepid (sound familiar-the Intrepid of Kirk's timeline was an all vulcan crew-the first in StarFleet I believe. Got swallowed up by a giant space thingy-looked like a paramecium or an amoeba) The captain who hailed Archer from the Intrepid looked very human-Ramirez I believe his name was. And I get the feeling that the vulcans are big on advice but lacking in the action department as far as earth is concerned. Reminds me of a country song I heard " a little less talk and a lot more action"!
They did look neat, tho. Think I'll fire up the ol' VCR and use the slow/pause button to check those babies out

There are people who won't know what a hind is ( the adult female of the european red deer).
They may be thinking something rather rude.
Of course NOT LIZZY!!!!!
We can always consider the USS Golden Goose- that way when it "lays an egg" nobody will be suprised
well, maybe the klingons would.

I believe the Interpid and the other ship the helped with the intercept/escort were considered warp 2 class vessels. The big deal about the Enterprise is the warp 5 speed.

I don't think so...... If they stay with the current naming convention for Enterprise, it would become NX-01A.

| In DS9, O'Brien was Chief of Operations of the station. While he had to say "sir" to younger guys like Bashir--and ultimately Nog--he was the top guy in all things concerning station operations and was considered part of the senior staff, reporting only to the commanding officer. |
Wasn't O'Brien Chief of engineering? When they brought Worf in he was given the title of Chief of Operations, or "OPS". OPS was for DS9 as the bridge is for Enterprise.

Hulk & Oracle sound more like names of class's.

They are all superheros.
But that gave me an idea. I'm writing my own script set in about 2608 and was looking for a name for a class of starships...

I have before me a treasured copy of the 35th anniversary tribute (T.V. Guide) to Star Trek-in all it's silver glory.
Inside the hallowed pages it says that Miles O'Brien was first transporter chief aboard NG's Enterprise, then chief of operations aboard DS9.
Our favorite Klingon,Worf, was first security chief (after the death of Tash Yar) on the NG's Enterprise, then strategic operations officer on DS9.
Sounds to me just a fancy way of saying that on DS9 O'Brien was the chief of engineering and Worf the chief of Star Fleet security forces.

And what is the Milenium Sparkster-old and demented? ( I like the demented part tho I think I'll skip the old)
EVERYONE KNOWS PARAMOUNT IS THE VOICE OF THE GREAT BIRD OF THE GALAXY!
Berman sits on his right hand and Braga sits on his left. Now, if they would only get off the poor bird's hands maybe he's get something done.
I know, birds don't have hands-but this is trek kiddies. Anything is possible. Including some more good eps from B & B.
with continuity!
How about the USS Berman-Braga? * major suck-up, with a photon torpedo tube no straws here! *

Yup, those Ent. Writers are such sticklers for continuity...........
Heaven forbid should we go against convention in naming a vessel. NX-02 can be changed to NX-01A very easily. After all if one can paint chickens on the warp nacells.........

What is with the chickens on the warp nacelles?
Sparky

Ya had to be there to read the posts, honey! It started with replicated chickens and went downhill from there.!
There was also an earlier posting on a thread( I can't remember which) where some one suggested shooting the remains of Cpt. Archer's steak dinner at the enemy-sorry as much as I would love to take responsibility for that one ya can't blame me.

Going through the names suggested, I have to say that
Columbia would make for a fitting tribute.
It also fits being the second American space shuttle following the Enterprise.
