Full Version: Why Is The Ship Named The Andromeda?

I know it's a slow question, but here's a viewer who hasn't seen the entire series, that's all, and I suppose one would have to to find out why they name their ship after the Andromeda rather than some other star system. Considering what that ship is like, it would be an interesting and significant point, its nomenclature, that is. They don't seem to originate from anywhere near it or to be going toward it. Can anyone tell me why they chose that name?

By the way, I think that's the nicest and most personable ship in the TV fleet. I don't suppose they'd even want to be in space if they couldn't fly the Andromeda, so it's tense moments when someone tries to demolish it. I'm always glad to see it pull through.

No one answered this post, posted about a year ago, and I wonder why. I notice there's over a thousand views. But does no one have any answer to it? It is a rather enigmatic show.

The latest episodes I saw, "Vault of the Heavens" through "Answers Given to Questions Never Asked", make it clear that the show is about the Apocalypse. Its cast is New Spirit types.
