Full Version: Now That's How You Wrap Up A Season!

Andromeda really wrapped things up nicely for the season but left the door opened for a continued existence should there be one, or the final end should that be the case as well.

I couldn't believe what they did to Rommie!

I don't want to list any spoilers, but in almost every single case you are uncertain if the main character lives or dies. If the series continues, and I hope it will, it will be very interesting to see what happens to each character!

In some ways this was the opposite of the Enterprise finale. This one sort of drug along for the first 30 minutes, simply setting up the action and ending in the second 30 minutes. But man, what an ending, the last 10-15 minutes were excellent and really kept you glued to the screen and left you with questions, but none that you didn't think couldn't be explained satisfactorally, no sudden Nazi appearance and Remans thrown into the mix.

Even what Dillon faced at the end was done so much better than what Archer faced that it has to make one wonder if Enterprise doesn't need to hire some Andromeda writers, although maybe Majel Roddenberry knew that when she brought them onboard the project. smile.gif Actually, I don't know how much daily input she has, but whomever worked this out did an excellent job concluding a story arc (if it is indeed concluded) that has been going on for a few seasons!

Kudos to Andromeda and all involved!

I hated it.

It seemed like it was going no where, and then one by one everyone gets picked off.

I saw it last weekend, and then again this weekend, and didn't like it any better the second go around.

My biggest problem is Kevin Sorbo. It is largely thanks to him that the show went waaaaay off course, starting in the third season. I am sick and tired of everything having to cater to his ego. Now it turns out he is the all powerful Oz or something, and the Universe revolves around him!

While I won't mind seeing how they plan on pulling this one off, if they get the chance, I won't be sorry to see this one end, if that is it's fate.

It's a shame we'll never know how the show would have turned out if it had stayed on the course it was started out on, and had the shows creator been allowed to fulfill his vision for the show, rather then Sorbo's dumbed down version. mad.gif

If Enterprise had done a show as bad as this one, I doubt they would have gotten picked up for another season.

I have to agree with Ken. What a great way to end a season, and possibly a series. While I don't like the suggestion they left of "starting over" (way too much like the Bobby Ewing dream sequence), in the context of the series it did make sense. The ending also gave everyone a good chance to say good bye, if it is the end. Very touching, very well written season finale.

Yeah I don't understand Excalibur's review other than I think he must have missed several episodes leading up to this one and therefore didn't get the context of some of the things that took place. No biggie, there are always re-runs...
Excalibur
I haven't missed any episodes. I have recorded the show each week, and then watched it.

I have hated how they have ruined the show since the beginning of the third season, but I haven't completely given up on it yet.

I thought losing Tyr, and bringing in Rhade was a stroke of genius. In fact on anoth Andromeda board, when they announced that Kieth was leaving, someone asked who should be brought in to fill the spot. I was the first one to say that the only choice was to bring in Rhade.

Andromeda went from this good show with a clear direction, to a show with absolutely no direction, to a show that has tried to gain back what they lost while pumping up Kevin Sorbo's ego.

I admit I'm still bitter about them destroying the show, and that colors how I see the show now, and I have said that I would like to see how this turns out if they get the chance, but give me Enterprise any day over Andromeda.

My only regret is that Enterprise doesn't have an avatar like Rommie! wub.gif I WANT MY ROMMIE! blush.gif
