Kevin Sorbo Excited About
Andromeda's Fifth Season
Kevin Sorbo expressed his enthusiasm for the fifth season of Gene Roddenbery's Andromeda Wednesday, saying that he is looking forward to working once again with the program's tremendously talented cast, and fleshing out new adventures as Capt. Dylan Hunt.
"I think the show is going in a great direction, and that the fans will find it interesting to see how Dylan handles the next round of challenges that come his way. It's great to be back with a cast that's so professional and fun to work with."
Tribune Entertainment Vice President of Programming Bill Hamm says it will be a season that no sci-fi fan should miss.
"It's going to be a thrilling and exciting new adventure -- one that I'm sure will keep fans of Dylan and the crew glued to the screen."
Be sure to catch Season Five of Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda, every Friday on the Sci-Fi Channel at 8:00pm starting Sept. 24. Fans can also catch year five of the Andromeda's adventures in syndication beginning the week of Sept. 27 -- check local listings.

| QUOTE (RommieWeb.com) |
Despite recent confusion, RommieWeb can now report that Season Five is, once again, confirmed.
It is not yet clear who is now producing Andromeda, but multiple sources have reported undeniable evidence. Ashley Edward Miller posted at fan forums "Ex Isle" that Season Five starts production this month, and that he and Zack Stentz have already sold a freelance script for S5, which will possibly be the fourth episode of the season.
Robert H. Wolfe also confirmed the new season. All that is left is for Tribune to make the announcement themselves, and to answer the question of production, now that Fireworks is out of the equation.
In addition, a certain guest star's agent, who has been behind the scenes for RommieWeb in the past, has received a casting sheet for guest spots in Season Five, and assures us that it is official. "Trust me a casting director doesn't start auditioning unless they are getting paid. There are now two episodes being casted already."
The first episode is tentatively titled "The Weight", and will be shooting from 25th May to 1st June. It appears to be being directed by Gord Verheul, although it is unclear whether or not he is specifically directing episode 5x01. The casting sheet for the episode states:
"YES FINALLY, WE ARE BACK FOR SEASON FIVE. As I am sure you remember (what utter c**p) that we last left the Andromeda crew either about to die or being transported through the Route of Ages to 'who-knows-where'. They end up in the Seefra system, a man-made system of nine planets and two suns which seems to be a repository for anyone rocketed through the Route. Sort of, 'you can get there with some difficulty, and never get back'. It's a bit of a cross between 'West World' a future world that has western references and 'Star Wars', the first one with the back world bar. The look of this new season will resemble the movie 'Brazil'. That should also guide your casting ideas."
Although this is inherently good news, fans have been upset by the reluctance of Tribune Entertainment to keep them informed about recent events.
RommieWeb will continue to post information on Season Five episodes as and when we hear it. |
