We know now that the Xindi have been getting their marching orders from the Trans-demensional aliens, who want humans destroyed because they will be the driving force behind the formation of the Federation, and the Federation will bring an end to the Trans-demensional aliens' attempt to take over our dimension.

Yes, the TDA's have been messing with time, but do they have anything to do with the temporal cold war?

The temporal cold war seems to be being fought between the Federation, and the Future Guy. Both of these factions have helped Archer in his mission to save earth.

Whatever FG's long term plans are, he seems to need Archer around, at least for now, as much as the Federation does.

At the beginning of the series, FG was trying to destabilize the Klingon empire, but was willing to leave Archer and crew alone for the most part.

I hope the series runs long enough that we finally get to see what this temporal cold war is all about.

I wonder how important Archer is to FG's plans?

You bring up some good points, but you must mean Starfleet when you say federation, right? There is no federation yet. Or are you refering to the federation in the future in which case it would all make sense. I get so confused sometimes.

I must speculate that Archer is indeed very important to FG for him to be going to as much trouble as he has. I too am anxcious to find out what it is all about and am very nervous that ENT won't last long enough to find out.

The temporal cold war is being frought in 31 century, but the war against TDA is being frought in 25 century, remeber, Danial brought Archer to Enterprise-J, 400 years, which place this around 2554. I wouldn't be suprise if these TDA are manipulating the TCW for there own gains just like FG. I am wondering if these TDA are responsible for starting the TCW in the first place, since they seem to have a good grasp of time travel.
