Knitted Marvin’s fly from Science Museum Store!

Widely perceived as the star of the recent blockbuster, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Marvin is also proving popular with visitors to the Science Museum’s new exhibition The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. New action figures due

The New York Toy Fair has seen a lot of new releases announced including:

  • Angel & Fred figures from Diamond Select Toys. New scanning technology is being employed to supposedly make the likenesses spectacular. They are scheduled for a summer 2005 release with the normal slew of variants expected.
  • Star Trek figures from Diamond Select will include DS9 "Trials and Tribulations" versions of Jax, Sisko, Bashire and O'Brien in original Trek uniforms, Next Gen figures of Riker and Worf (both with many ... more

  • Charmed action figures?

    SOTA is producing Charmed action figures next year. Scanned from the actors, they figures will not be as highly articulated as the company's other work, such as Tomb Raider, figures and don't look for former cast member Shannon Doherty as Prue. The first set to be introduced with be Paige, Piper and Phoebe...with one other surprise figure not yet announced. 5/27/03 more

    Hasbro renews Star Wars license

    Hasbro has renewed it's license with LucasFilms to produce toys based on the Star Wars sagas for the next 10 years, so expect even more SW merchandise. 1/30/03 more

    Sideshow gets Star Trek license

    Sideshow Toy have scored the collectibles license for all incarnations of the STAR TREK universe. Launching the line in March 2003 will be busts of William Shatner\'s Captain Kirk (at left) and Leonard Nimoy\'s Mr. Spock. The sculptures will stand about 7 inches high. Further collectibles are planned, including items featuring Brent Spiner\'s Data and Patrick Stewart\'s Captain Picard as well as a Gorn item. The line has a debut scheduled for the New York International Toy Fair in February. 1/17/03 more

    New Highlander Trading cards due

    Rittenhouse Archives has announced they have taken over the trading card license for Highlander: The Series. Their first series will be released in Spring 2003 with further details to be announced. Rittenhouse is known for producing quality cards with various chaser sets including autographed cards, costume cards and more.
