Sci Fi Channel becomes SyFy

The Sci Fi Channel is changing its name and logo to SyFy, supposedly as they feel SyFy better reflects their content of fantasy as well as science fiction, paranormal, horror, etc. Uh...huh? Personally I cannot see it and think SyFy is a rather stupid name...but hey! maybe people won't think is their official website anymore! That wouldn't be a bad thing - you would be amazed how many emails I get that is obviously intended for them! -- ... more

Munsters Lily Dies

We were saddened to hear that actress Yvonne De Carlo who played Lily in the Munsters passed away at the age of 84. She also played Moses' wife in The Ten Commandments.
De Carlo died of natural causes January 8 at the Motion Picture & Television facility in Los Angeles.
Vampir-ess Lily was the mother of the monsterous family in the popular show that only lasted 2 years, but has aired just about continously in syndication ever since. more

Heroes, Lost and other Stars in Orlando

The Cheeerleader from Heroes, actress Hayden Panettiere, will appear at FX in Orlando in January along with stars from Lost, Firefly, and many more.
FX has a great guest line up this year with Panettiere as well as Kristen Bell (Veronica Mars & The Pulse), Sam Huntington (Superman Returns), Maggie Grace & Sam Anderson (Lost), Colin Ferguson & Jordan Hinson (Eureka), Bianca Lawson (Buffy), and many more.

Scientists teleport two items

LONDON, England (Reuters) -- Beaming people in Star Trek fashion is still in the realms of science fiction but physicists in Denmark have teleported information from light to matter bringing quantum communication and computing closer to reality.
Until now scientists have teleported similar objects such as light or single atoms over short distances from one spot to another in a split second.

Michael Piller Passes

Trek's Michael Pillar dies of Cancer Michael Piller, the executive producer/co-creator of more than 500 hours of Star Trek, died of head & neck cancer on Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at his home in Los Angeles. He was 57.

Michael was creative consultant for Star Trek: Voyager, which he co-created, until the series concluded in May 2001. SciFi Zone Radio Show changing

The SciFi Zone Radio Show will be reformatting to a one hour show with a time slot of Saturday 11 PM to midnight in Orlando, FL (EST), 10 PM to 11 PM in Kansas City, MO (CST) and Sunday 11 PM to midnight in Tampa, FL (EST) beginning Saturday, August 6th.

James Doohan passes

Fox News reports have given us the sad news that actor James Doohan, Scotty from the original Trek series, has passed away. Doohan died at July 20, 5:30 a.m. at his Redmond, Wash., home with his wife of 28 years, Wende, at his side, Los Angeles agent and longtime friend Steve Stevens said. The cause of death was pneumonia and Alzheimer's disease, he said. James Doohan was 85. more
