If you are like me, you keep forgetting what movie is coming out when. Until we get our full movie section back in shape, here are a few with their release dates to get you ready.
Star Trek - May 8. JJ Abrams re-imagining of the original Star Trek concept with all new cast playing Kirk, Spock and the rest of our favorite Enterprise crew.
Terminator Salvation - May 21. Like Star Trek, this is another film trying to revitalize a classic franchise. This one takes up where Terminator 3 left off starring Christian Bale.
Moon - June 12. About astronaut Sam Bell (played by Sam Rockwell), a Helium 3 miner on the Moon that has a personal encounter. Was a favorite at the Sundance film festival.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - June 24. Sequel again directly by Michael Bay.
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince - July 15. The 6th film in the series. Enough said.
District 9 - August 14. About aliens who are now refugees in south Africa.
Citizen Game - September 4. Gerard Butler stars as the most popular player - and a prisoner - in a game called Slayers battling it out with another player to earn his freedom.
Pandorum - September 4. Ben Foster & Dennis Quaid are crew members on a spaceship being stalked by warriors intent on killing everyone.
Surrogates - September 25. Bruce Willis plays a cop in a world where humans live in isolation and interact through surrogate robot avatars. When some of the surrogates robots are murdered, he has to figure out how.
Astroboy - October 23. An animated big screen version of the classic series.
2012 - November 13. Figured there would be at least one film that takes advantage of the 2012 doomsday theory - and naturally it's by Roland Emmerich. John Cusack stars as an academic researcher trying to counteract the apocalypse.
Avatar - December 18. By James Cameron, it concerns a wounded ex-marine helping an alien race in a battle for survival.
We'll have to see if any of these are actually good! -- 4/22/09
